Sea – air interface caracterization by a new smart multi instrumented device

CERSAT develop a new device for sea – air interface investigation. MAREE is in charge of tests, qualification and operation checks.

A better knowledge of exchanges between air and sea water are important to understand global climate working. But oceanographic surveys and traditional instrumentation are expensive. That’s why this easy to deploy – cheap – tiny device was developed.

This innovative instrument acquires autonomously parameters to study wave profiles, wild band swell spectrums, mechanical accelerations…

This first step of the project will be completed by embedded ultrasonic measurements, to study void fractions under the surface (bubbles) and droplets upper the interface.

This work is a major stage in acoustic R&D studies completed by MAREE for CERSAT.
